The 1920's were a great time full of joy and excitement, dance and music became big. Dance marathons were big and very competitive. Music changed and was new to everyone. The dance marathons were harsh couples danced for hours on end, sometimes even for days or weeks, with only very short ten minute breaks between every hour. People like to watch these people dance and for a price of 25 cents for admission they could watch them dance for as long as they want.
Dancing became extremely popular when a new kind of music called Jazz came around. Books and schools were teaching people how to do certain dances. The Tango and the Charleston became the new kinds of dance that revolutionized the country. Even with all of this excitement of new culture, there still was a big problem that America was about to face. It was the crash of the Stock Market in September 1929. The mood of America changed dramatically.
Music also paid a great priority because without the music the dances would have never been possible. Radios and records played big rolls in the music life. Jazz was the new kind of music also known as the devils music, as some referred to it, but most people did like it. This made companies grow and it made new companies appear like musicals and record companies. With all of these new changes in music and dance more people started to like it as it grew more popular in culture.
